Sex is a great way to boost your endorphin and oxytocin levels (feel good hormones). Sex also has the ability to block chronic pain, boost immunity and lower anxiety levels. If you’re looking for a way to make your days easier while you’re pregnant, engaging in some top-of-the-day intercourse is a great way to start!


2. Get creative with positions

You might think that the bigger your belly gets, the less sex positions will work for you. There are some traditional ones that might have to be put on hold (like missionary), but there are a ton of others that are perfectly fine. 3. Avoid what's uncomfortable

While pregnant, it’s not uncommon for you to feel uncomfortable at times or for you to have some nausea or mild abdominal cramping. When this occurs, don’t force yourself into having intercourse. Although sometimes it could relieve the symptoms, that’s not always a guarantee. You and your partner deserve to have sex when you’re up for it. Not when you’re trying to talk yourself into it.


4. Keep the lines of communication open

Sexual intimacy is something that should bring you and your partner closer together. That’s why it’s so important to be open about what you’re both feeling and what you both need. Remember, your pregnancy is not only an adjustment for you, but for him as well. Both of you need to be loving and patient as you’re getting used to your ever-evolving “new normal” until your baby arrives. Sex while pregnant can be a very special time as you prepare for a new member of your home. Look at it as a way to spend even more quality time together before your baby comes along and makes more demands of the time you now have. Both in and out of the bedroom.


5. Orgasms won’t force you into premature labor

One more thing. You might’ve read that having sex can cause you to go into premature labor. If your pregnancy has been going smoothly, there’s a very low chance of that. Yes, semen contains prostaglandins that can cause your cervix to slightly dilate. But it would take A LOT of semen for that to serious affect your uterus to the point of heavily contracting. So enjoy your time together. Especially during your pregnancy, you deserve it!
